Strip Quilt with Scraps Sew-Along

Expert quilter and Co-op member Linda Wenzel will lead this Strip Quilt Sew-Along. In the dog-days of summer, come into the air-conditioning and work on a new project. This quilt makes it easy to use up your stash and scraps or to trade fabric with others. And yes, you can buy new fabric, too, to sparkle up what you have on hand. This quilt is beautiful in both patterns and solids!

Linda will show you the basics of this simple but stunning string project and talk through multiple design and size options. 

2 Class sessions: Thursdays, August 24 and 31, 10:30 am-1:00pm

Materials:
Rotary mat, rotary cutter (Shop has loaner mats for class participants).
Sewing machine in good working order and a basic sewing kit. We do have a few loaner machines if you prefer not to bring yours. Please call and request a machine.

During the first class we will discuss design options and the size of your desired quilt.

72 inch square quilt: 64 blocks
Interfacing-9 yards ( Interfacing will be available at the shop.)
Accent fabric, if desired- 1.25 yards 

54x72 Quilt: 48 blocks
Interfacing- 6 3/4 yards 
Accent fabric, if desired, 1 yard 

36 inch square- 16 blocks 
Interfacing - 2 1/4 yards
Accent- 1/2 yard 

Lots of scraps that can be cut into strips. Consider bringing extra to share and swap! This makes for a fun community project and adds additional fabrics to your collection.
